Walter Jungk told his son John that pizza, more than likely, was only a fad. It’s a good thing John Jungk didn’t listen.

Pizza seasonings were the original impetus behind many years of spice learning, training, and development that eventually led to Old World Spices & Seasonings, a company John founded in 1987 from a blend of legacy and innovation.

Today, Old World Spices & Seasonings is a premier blender of custom seasonings for the bakery, dairy, deli, meat, private label, and food service industries. It serves a customer base of more than 1,500 accounts distributed across the entire United States and Canada and produces private label blends that are being exported to Europe.

With an experienced corporate chef on staff and product development lab to spark and spur innovation, the company operates its dry seasoning blending plant and custom packaging operation in Concordia, Missouri, along with a state-of-the-art research lab in Overland Park, Kansas.

Laurie’s Kitchen, the company’s branded line of gourmet mixes for the specialty food market, is the company’s fastest-growing segment.
