Andy DeShon & Bill Junk Honored by State Legislators

Two St. Joseph-area tech-oriented innovative business owners—Andy R. DeShon and Bill Junk—will be among 20 owners and operators of outstanding small businesses in Missouri honored by members of the General Assembly Jan. 28, at a business showcase in Jefferson City. The event, sponsored by the Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Centers (MO SBTDC), highlights the achievements of some of the top performing clients of MO SBTDC and its companion program, the Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (MO PTAC).

With over 200 people in attendance at last year's Missouri Entrepreneur Celebration, this October's event is one certainly not to be missed!
The Missouri Entrepreneur Celebration brings together a variety of businesses from various industries and highlights their achievements and successes among entrepreneurial peers. In addition, Missouri Legislators, Kansas City elected officials, UMKC faculty and administration and other partners are among those in attendance.
New to the Missouri Entrepreneur Celebration this year is the addition of a prestigious awards presentation highlighting top achievers and innovators among Kansas City's local businesses.

Governor Facilitates Roundtable with Kansas City Small Businesses

Governor Nixon spent the brisk Thursday afternoon of April 21st sitting around a small round table with UMKC SBTDC small business clients to discuss Missouri loan programs and incentives and the challenges these businesses currently faced as well as solutions for how the state could help.
The venue was hosted at Farm to Market Bread Co. in the Waldo area where the smell of freshly baked bread wafted through the outdoor tent facility where the round table was conducted.
